| Alice Barber, 1899-1983 I only meet Alice when I was very young; it was on one of the visits to Barrow, Suffolk with my Nan Edith and granddad George Barber.
I don’t remember much about her, but my mom told me she was a proper lady, very smart with long flame red hair and spoke in a very soft voice.
Alice was so mom tells me a very attractive young woman and most of the young men in the village would make a beeline for her at the local village dance.
Alice Talbot (nee Barber) born 1899, married Victor Talbot 1927, Victor died in 1983.

| The Green Wickhambrook village, Suffolk. the photo was taken on Coltsfoot Green, Wickhambrook, Suffolk, and it shows Eliza Barber 1890-1968 (my great aunt) with her grandmother Alice Hurrell (nee Husk) in the wheelchair, Alice Hurrell was the mother of Harriet Barber (nee Hurrell) my great grandmother. It was put in a local newspaper (Suffolk) quite a few years ago, it stated in the article that the photo was of Eliza and her grandmother, Alice Hurrell. Alice died around 1911.. and interestingly all the houses in the background are still there, but the well with the fence around has been replaced with a bench.
Thanks to Adam King for the photo.
